Not-So-Basic Christmas Cards

The best time of year is almost here and to the start of everything jolly for the holidays! Including what is now one of my favorite things: Christmas cards.

I used to think that greeting cards were totally 1990s and only something my grandma cared about, but recently I’ve taken a love to the snail mail! With the increase in technology and everyone’s busy schedule, when I receive a card in the mail, I get SO excited. Someone putting forth that extra effort means so much more to me than a text or post on social media.

And with our family growing, we definitely wanted to send cards to those we love to share our thoughts for them this holiday season 🙂 This is where Basic Invite caught my eye because I wanted something different and unique to send this year.

I was able to look through Basic Invite’s collection of cards, which by the way, there are over 250 holiday cards to choose from. So. Many. Possibilities. They even had work christmas party invites.

I picked out some of my faves from the christmas photo cards and ordered custom samples to show Gregory before I made my big order. Having a custom sample was a plus because I was able to put all of the details on the card, actually feel the paper quality and check out the boujee foiled cards before I made my final choice.

Oh and they have colored envelopes! Over 40 colors to choose from. Y’all this is such a huge thing for me because even when I go to the store, I always pick the card and then usually take a colored envelope from a different card. It’s just those little details that make a difference to me when getting holiday cocktail party invites.

So we got the samples in and the decision-making process was not easy. I loved them all! We decided on the photo card and when I went to order, I noticed they had an Address Capturing Service. I had never heard of this before but it’s a lifesaver. The service allows customers to simply share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other form of social media to request their friends and family’s addresses which will be stored in the customer’s account and they can then be selected during the design process. Literally so easy! I can’t tell you how many spreadsheets I have of family addresses that I never know are accurate.

All of this to say, Gregory and I have the cutest Christmas cards for this year and I can’t wait already to order next year with baby Levi’s sweet pics on it.

Basic Invite is offering 30% off with coupon code: holi30

I hope this inspires many of you to ditch the technology and kick it old school with some cute Christmas cards. Trust me, Grandma will thank you for it for years and years to come!

PS Basic Invite is also throwing in free addressing for a limited time!
